Building of a test bench and design of control electronics for project TACMON2

The objective of this paper is to design and fabricate a test environment for MEMS based tactile display subunit. The first semester of thesis writing, whose results are described in this paper, focuses on the possible realization of this test environment.

The paper starts with the introduction and comparison of state-of-the-art research activities, results and off-the-shelf products, which are similar to TACMON2 and may enhance the quality of the human-machine interaction for visually impaired people.

The second chapter specifies the test environment required for the extensive testing of special MEMS chips, and gives a summary and description of the electrical components required for the realization of the test environment.

It is followed by the thorough testing of the previously introduced electrical parts, comparing the test result with the system specification and the test environment, fabricated from the tested units, is presented in detail.

Finally, the paper introduces the achieved results and describes the further work.
