Nowadays the cardiovascular diseases are very prevalent. So are the deaths caused by these issues. That is why the persistent development of the medical devices are realy important. The ECG (electrocardiogram) is able to monitor the electrical activity of the human hearth, which is a huge help for the doctors, who can diagnose the possible diseases, or they can even prevent the evolution of cardiovascular problems.
The company Analog Devices came out last year with the chip named ADAS1000, which is able to recieve ECG singals on 5 channels, it can amplify those, completes an analogue-digital conversion, and send the datas on a serial line for a microcontroller, DSP, or also for an FPGA. In addition the device is able to monitor respirational activity and chips can be connected to each other, which gives us the opportunity to improve the number of channels. The last mentioned two functions are in this project not to be observed.
First of all my task is to do some bibliographic searching in the subject ECG, after this I have to make the particular specification of the device, and all after those I have to design the whole hardware and software. The PC has to process the incoming datas, and it also has to visualize them.
