Thanks to the rapid evolution of the smartphones, they are used more often on a daily basis, sometimes even overshadowing personal computers. The hardwares inside the smartphones enable them to perform even more complex tasks. This can be observed especially by the advancement of the games' graphics and gameplay.
Almost all smartphones have internet connection, therefore the applications can use it for several services. Besides the offline single-player mode, most of the games today can also provide the opportunity for multiplayer gaming, thus increasing the experience.
The prototype application that I developed is a 3 dimensional multiplayer platform game. During the development I used the Apples SceneKit library. For the implementation of the multiplayer part, I did not use the Game Center services, instead I developed my own, custom solution.
By the end of the thesis work I created a working prototype of the game, which can be a good base for further development and optimization in the future, while granting the opportunity for testing the multiplayer functions.
