ABSTRACT

The task of my thesis was to design the system plan, the circuit and software design of a USB CAN converter device. To solve the project I had to getting know the two communication interfaces, the microcontroller based hardware and software desinging.

The first chapter summarize the main features of the USB 2.0 specification.

The second chapter introduces the CAN interface.

The third chapter is the documentation of the USB CAN converter. The specification of the device, the system design, the hardware and the software plan is found in this chapter as well.

The user’s manual of the device is found in the fourth chapter.

The shematic and the layout of the device are placed in the Appendix.
