In spite of the fact, that shopping online is extremely widespread nowadays, significant proportion of the companies still uses personal sales. Therefore corporations would like to take advantage of the information technology in this area. During such a sales process, account managers makes a personal visit to the existing clients and also to the potential new clients, where they present their new products and they provide detailed information about their services. A tablet could be a perfect device during one of these visits.
The account manager could introduces the product on the tablet with an interactive multimedia catalog. He could give a price offer, or in simple cases, he could generates a contract where the client data sheet is already filled without leaving the app.
The tablet provides opportunity to display adaptive questionnaires, where depends on the given answers, some question could disappear or new questions can be displayed.
My task was to design and implement the server-side component of such an application. The web application provides the user with an intuitive user interface to design questionnaires (even with complex dependencies), or to edit the product catalog. It is also the duty of the server to always provide the client apps with up-to-date information.
In this project, I was cooperating with one of the biggest telecom service provider in Hungary, so I could experience what it’s like to participate in a real enterprise IT project.
