I have worked out the basic concept of a new project from Cason Zrt. in this thesis. The aim of the project is to create a product, which gratify the needs of the industrial market, all around the world.
The topic of the thesis is creating a new generation remote terminal unit proto-type, which is able to control an industrial system using a preprogramed logic, and it is also able to pass through the controlling of the system to remote device. The ap-plication mix the used old and the developing new technologies, which prove the communication of sensors and controller units. The device also can use these tech-nologies connecting to SCADA networks. Another important segment is the con-figuration, therefore I have aspired to make it easy and fast. For this function I have created a local server, which reachable over the wireless connection. The other aim was to minimalize the energy compulsion; I have must to pay attention for this dur-ing the platform choosing. These needs not appear as extra service, these are becom-ing necessary.
The prototype was build in a Raspberry Pi 3 mini PC. A Linux distribution op-erate in this device. The controller logic must write according to IEC 61131-3 standard, and the logic can be uploaded in the in the configuration server. I have implemented the Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP and MQTT protokolls. The device is able to communicate the peripheries and control systems with these protokolls. The modules witch connected directly to the device use an RS-485 physical layer. The internet is available using Wifi or Ethernet.
