Nowadays the acceleration of the world's processes, therefore the acceleration of transportation industry evolution is enormous. In my BSc thesis I introduce the basic theory and architecture of C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems), which make transportation more efficient and safer. An important and essential part of C-ITS systems is V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication, so I outline the most important methods, forms and aims of V2X.
From the aspect of my topic the most important application of V2X communication is Green Light Optimised Speed Advisory, so I illustrate its basic functionality through the results of the relating C-ITS projects. Green Light Optimised Speed Advisory is not a precisely defined algorithm, it can be realized in many ways. I implement and test some possible realizations, using one of the most advanced open-source traffic simulators, Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO). Finally, analysing the results from more aspects, I outline the possible directions of further development of the application and implementations.
