The main goal of my thesis is to design and implement an indoor localization system framework, based on the devices of evopro Innovations Kft.
At the beginning of my project, I got familiar with the theory of localization methods and calculation procedures. Based on the literature, I got to know the applied technologies and several fields of application of Real-time Locating Systems (RTLS). These are presented in the first chapters of my thesis.
I got familiar with the equipment of the company. I got to know the operation of these devices and their functions, then I assessed how I could extend this functionality by connecting the different technologies into a common system. With this knowledge, I started to design the system. I designed the data structure, the communication methods and logic behind the system. At the design phase, I took into consideration, that the system should be extendable in technological and functional aspect.
Based on the design plans, I started the implementation of the system. For this, I needed to explore the potential technologies to satisfy the requirements made by the thesis. After the research, I decided on ASP.NET and C#. After the study of these technologies, I could start to realize the system.
When the system was implemented, I started the software and hardware tests. The result of the design, implementation and tests is a flexible and expandable framework, capable of indoor localization and location-based content service.
