Transfer of pictures applying wireless short range ISM radios

The aim of my thesis was to do research about image compression and image transfer through short range digital radios. I had to design an image transmission system which can transfer 20 pieces of 320x480 pixel sized, black and white image per secound in maximum 20 meter distance, in the 868 MHz ISM band. My task was also, to analyze the compression possibilites and I had to analyze also which interface technologies could applicable in the transmitter and in the receiver side.

I had to build a prototype system too. I had to use Si4431/4432 integrated circuits for establishing the radio link.

In my thesis I describe the problems of the transmitter and receiver side and I write down the specificity of of the related hardware components. I perform the software componenst too, particularly the software elements related to the radio hardware, and personal computer part in the receiver chain.

I performed my task in Silicon Laboratories Hungary Ltd., for the design and test I used the tools assured by Silicon Laboratories Hungary Ltd.
