Integrating wireless communication into an automotive system with AURIX Tricore microcontroller

Based on the nowadays’ expectation, the number of IoT applications is incre-menting in the automotive industry as well. The integration of these applications requires special attention because of the specialities of automotive industry. In my thesis, I present the integration of a WiFi module into an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) which contains a simple webserver, too. The selection process of the module will be presented in this document together with the solutions of the hardware and software problems. In the second step of the development, I implemented software which executes the required tasks (SPI driver and webserver) without software based waiting.

My thesis contains description about the used wireless technologies, the automotive industrial processes and the applied microcontroller.

The main target of the project is to send files to the computer from an SD card without wired connection. The webserver is responsible to handle the http messages and send back the proper files.

The previously defined tasks are achieved; the prototype is completed, ready for testing and further development.
