The paper describes the process of design, implementation and testing of a wireless communication based measurement and data acquisition system. The system suitable for measuring and collecting the temperature of the environment into a central database. The system design describes the user interface and the method of the alarm triggering from the measured data.

The paper describes the present wireless communication solutions before designing my own measurement and data acquisition system. After the comparison of the described solutions by advantages and disadvantages I chose the most suitable one according to the specifications. The paper describes the structure, operation and data flow process of the chosen solution.

The paper presents in details the structure of the backbone network. The data storage, display and alarm triggering solutions are described in details according to the specification. The paper explains the results of the system testing and possible directions of the further improvements.
