The Internet has become indispensable. It’s popularity is increasing and with the appearance and spread of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices it is now available everywhere. Cisco predicts that the annual Internet traffic will surpass the Zettabyte (Zettabyte - 1021) threshold in 2016 [1]. For this enormous traffic the growing popularity of the Internet and the Big Data are both responsible. According to another study conducted by Sandvine, the real time entertainment makes up the large part of the traffic [2]. For such traffic a typical example is watching a movie or video on the Internet.

One of the most popular sites that offer such content is YouTube. Based on their own statistics more than 6 billion hours of videos are watched every month, and more than 1 billion unique users visit the site per month [3]. Similar real time site is the Netflix which is a movie rental site. In North America - for example - the popularity of Netflix has overtaken the popularity of the YouTube [2].

In my opinion it is important to analyze these sites, because of the importance of these sites, as the data above clearly shows that. In the thesis, I will measure and analyze the traffic of these sites performing such services and I will compare the result with each other.
