The topic of my thesis is water rendering. The paper discusses the matters and difficulties of rendering realistic water surface in computer graphics.

At the beginning, I write about my personal motivation, state the basic definitions related to the topic and present the structure of the thesis. The paper points out a wide range of problems that usually come up during the implementation of a 3D virtual water surface, and also analyzes the pros and cons of various practical solutions on a theoretical level. This thesis takes a closer look on the water surface implementations of the most popular 3D rendering systems of the industry.

During my work with the thesis I implemented a water rendering demo application that renders a realistic ocean water surface. The thesis examines the details of the implementation both on architectural and algorithmic level, and also discusses nature of the chosen solutions.

At the end the thesis summarizes my studies and work in the field of water rendering.
