Development of a web based control software for a professional video-audio router

Lightware is a leading manufacturer of video-audio matrix switchers, extenders and accessories for the professional A/V market. Its development process includes hardware and software development as well as manufacturing. One of the recent projects is the development of a compact video-audio router called MX2-8x8-HDMI20-Audio. The product requires a control software providing a wide range of features. The development of the application is the main subject of my thesis. The software has to use web-based technologies: HTML, CSS and JavaScript, has to be designed with a modular architecture and is required to be scalable thus making new prducts in the MX-series easy to support. The control software is required to be able to run in browser applications connecting to the webserver of the video-router as well as in the Lightware Device Controller – the control software framework developed by Lightware. It is also important that the application has to support Lightware products’ main communication protocols.
