I wrote my thesis in Nokia as a member of a research group. My task was to learn the basic concepts of data visualization and to design and implement an application which displays key performance indicators of mobile networks.

Due to the ever-growing data volumes it is very important to present the information to the end-users efficiently and highlight information in a way that helps to find correlations between the data. Data visualization has two sides: the theory, which helps to choose the visualization methods and the technology enabling the work.

During my work I studied the factors which play a role in perceiving connections between objects, furthermore the colors’ effect on our visual system. I will give an overview about QoS and QoE and their relationship and analyze the received data source. I will compare three data visualization frameworks: Highcharts, Charts.js and D3; and I will choose one for implementing the application. Finally I will describe how I designed and implemented the application, and evaluate my work.
