Nowdays because of the progress of technology and mobile devices, more and more traditional, paper-based solution get replaced by its electronic version. The electronic versions are basically guarantee greater comfort and safety than the traditional ones.
Basically, the concept of the logbook require a paper-based solution, however, more and more companies are thinking about the use of the electronic solution. The traditional solution’s problem is that it quite roundabout and not necessarily reliable. The driver should lead it, but during the filling errors may occur. There are no limits to what the driver can see from the logbook, so he can check the routes up to the previous week or month. From the company’s point of view, the chance of fraud can cause problems in the budget.
The solution to the above problems can be the electronic version of logbook, because it has no human factor and it gets GPS (Global Positioning System) based data from a server. In terms of data privacy you can limit how much data the diver can see.
In this essay I present the design and development of an application that can be a solution to the problems mentioned above. The application consist of a mobile client and a server. The mobile client is used by the driver, while the server provides the data. It is important to note that the application needs internet connection for login and data receiving.
