Web-based sport database application

The sports, particularly football has gained ever-growing popularity from the mid-20th century, and today it has a huge fan-base, who want to know every single information about their favourites. The new computer and information technologies, mainly the Internet has made this information accessible to everyone in easily, quickly and orderly manner.

In my thesis I target to create a sport (football specialized) database framework, that is capable of storing and modifying data about leagues, teams, players, stadiums, matches etc., and provides detailed search functions in accordance with user requirements.

The application was built on the ASP.NET MVC framework, the relevant sections was written in C# programming language. I chose the Code First approach to create the database, the Entity Framework ORM system for data mapping, while the data access is helped by LINQ queries. The design of the web application user interface was mainly evolved with the Twitter Bootstrap front-end framework. In addition, several client-side JavaScript library (like jQuery, Mustache, tpyeahed) has been used in the project, which purpose was to increase the user experience, and follow today’s web trends.

In the thesis I will introduce the above listed technologies, as well as the details of the implemented application.
