The main goal of the semantic web idea is to process the huge amount of information available on the internet and support search engines and other applications to be able to interpret and understand these information. In order to achieve this goal it uses knowledge modelling processes, data structuring, descriptive properties based on metadata and semantic connection definitions between concepts.

The starting point of a modelling process is the source material. The sources can manifest in various formats for example text, sound, video, image or the knowledge of a profesional. One of the main step of the modeling process is creating an ontology based on the relevant concepts and the semantic connections appear in the sources. It is also requried to connect the concepts with their corresponding sources using annotations. As the result of this process the ontology can be used not only by itself, but for various other purposes, like helping to understand the meaning of the source material or to create explanations.

In my paper I design and develop an application to support this knowledge modeling process. The application hides the background technologies from the users and provides a practical user interface for creating and editing ontologies, and for creating annotations from source documents.
