The purpose of this thesis is to get acquainted with a corporate software system, then design, develop, and test a mobile phone application that can be integrated into the aforementioned system.
It describes Kilgray Translation Technologies’ memoQ integrated text translation environment, and it’s structure. Used technologies and processes which make the integration of the mobile application successful are reviewed. The necessity of improving memoQ is demonstrated. The design and development of this improvement is documented.
A modern mobile phone platform, Windows Phone 8, and the newly created application, memoQ Mobile, are depicted from the developer’s point of view. Technologies and software design patterns, which were utilized during development, are also delineated.
The thesis contains the description of the server and client side test scenarios, and their appropriate test run results. Finally, it summarizes the achieved results, and outlines possible future improvements for the mobile client.
