Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSC) are among the most promising technologies to cheap solar energy harvesting in the future. Although this technology is considered to be very cost effective and easy to manufacture, but still it has a long way to compete with the prices and efficiency of already established and mass produced crystalline silicon solar cells. However, due to the advantage of making semi-transparent modules and a wide variety of colored devices as well, DSSC probably can penetrate the market in building integrated applications and consumer electronics. The feature of flexibility could enhance the applicability in energy harvesting systems in daily life. Fabrication of DSSC with anodized nanoporous titania is a hot topic of research to achieve better performance. This work focuses on literature review of various anodization processes to produce nanoporous structured titania and choosing of optimized technique to fabricate these structures in the clean room facility, perform scanning electron microscopy to analyze the prepared samples. Furthermore, to carry out complete fabrication of flexible DSSC with thin film of titanium based on experimental results of anodization and literature review within the scope of facilities available; characterization of the devices prepared and to suggest possible methods of improvement.
