Porting the .NET Micro Framework to MicroBlaze processor

By the time embedded software developers have to deal with more and more complex problems, and because of this the required time and money increases. The usual assembly, C and C++ based development is the most popular, but the developers cannot handle the increased complexity. The solution can be a platform independent runtime environment, which can run higher level software code.

The .NET Micro Framework is an open source .NET platform made for resource-limited devices. It contains the reduced and smaller version of the .NET runtime, and supports application development in C# and Visual Basic and debugging from the Visual Studio development environment.

The main task of the project is to port the .NET Micro Framework 4.3 to the Xilinx MicroBlaze soft-core processor, to make the debugging features of the LOGSYS development cable available for the Visual Studio 2010 development environment, and to implement some demo applications to the LOGSYS FPGA panel to demonstrate the frameworks abilities.
