Desing and development of indoor navigation client on Android platformon, with Compact Framework

The topic of my thesis is the making of a client application, linking to an indoor positioning system, which is created by several people. The position is determined by the signal strengths of the Access Points in the IEEE 802.11 wireless network, using the sensors of the smartphone running the client, like the data of magnetometer – what is known as digital compass – or the accelerometer. During my work, there was no need to focus on the way of postition location since I had to write an Android-based program for an already existing system. Therefore I had to adopt to the already defined SOAP over HTTP communication layer, and the formerly created Windows Mobile 6.5. based client’s user interface and functions, considering the specific features of Android framework.
